Collection: Meg Wachs
Meg Wachs is a Brooklyn-based, interdisciplinary studio artist who started her artistic journey as a painter before discovering a love of metalwork. Her craft focuses on a practice of creating jewelry that hybridizes painting and metalsmithing. Using the technical skills of a metalsmith and the material exploration of multiple craft fields, she creates adornment that suggests the gesture of linework and brushstroke in 2D media. Meg seeks to challenge the idea that jewelry is not typically seen as a fine art while using the materials of a fine art practice to construct her wearables. She allows one practice to fuel the other by balancing her time between her easel and her jeweler’s bench.
